  • Acceptance criteria - negotiated standard for accepting a product backlog item between the Development Team and Product Owner usually agreed to in a Sprint.

  • Acceptance test - verification of product functionalities by business persons, the Product Owner or Product Management team, following plain language scenarios for functional usability and or non-functional requirements (NFRs) usability.   

  • Actual estimate - existing, factual or real outcome as in effort, time and value.

  • Adapt - (verb) modify for a new or better purpose.

  • Adaptive - (adjective) a: capable of being modified, b: ability to adapt or, c: suitable for change.

  • Agile - (adjective) a: of the mind with swift resourceful character, b: the ability to adapt quickly.

  • Agile Architecture - a set of tangible and intangible values and practices supporting the swift design and execution of business needs.

  • Agile cycle - short (1-3days) end-to-end business value design, build, test and release, repeated throughout software development life cycle.     

  • Agile Frameworks - subset of rules (Kanban, Scrum, Extreme Programming) circumscribed within Agile Principles.

  • Agile Manifesto - declaration of four values intended for advancement of Agile Principles.

  • Agile Principles - twelve fundamental doctrines, universal rule or code of conduct for swift change defined by 17 Agile founders.

  • Agile Software Development - of software architecture, design and execution following Agile Principles.

  • Agile Release Train - a team of 10 Agile teams with 50-120 members running on 8-12weeks iteration.

  • Agile Vital Signs © - essential metrics (productivity, quality, predictability, responsiveness)measuring agile team and organizational health.
