  • Backlog - location identifying all requirements that should be fulfilled in the completed product. 

  • Backlog items - accumulation or list of activities awaiting production or repair process.

  • Backlog (grooming) refinement - an exercise conducted at any convenient time and place by the Scrum Team to (a) determine relevant items or user stories in the backlog and to order by priority, (b) removing, creating or adding new user stories, (c) sizing, resizing user stories, for the purpose of readying items for the iteration.

  • Behavioral Driven Development - a combination of practices from Test Driven Development and Acceptance Test Driven Development with waste reduction in mind, development focuses on clearly defined business value by domain experts.

  • Bug - an error within a computer system or program. (See defect). 

  • Build machine - computer system adapted for Continuous Integration, with free disk space, right client and ability to boot.

  • Burndown Chart - graphical chart showing work remaining on y-axis versus time on x-axis per Sprint or entire product life cycle.

  • Burnup Chart - graphical chart showing "done" product on y-axis and time per Sprint or entire product life cycle on x-axis.

  • Business Analysts (BA)- one with business acumen, often politically nimble, assisting the Product Owner and team to discover value enhancing items for the product. 

  • Business Epic - large, long term placeholder of business initiatives for customer-centric ideas to be specified in user stories.

  • Business Value - all forms of value for the health and well-being of the organization expressed in informal terms.
